Food Safari or what we ate in the Serengeti

Finally... after 6 months of marriage, we were on our way to our honeymoon! I know, I know... I can imagine you shaking your head thinking: "About time!"

Everyone told me that they were very tired after their own wedding (and believe me I was as well), so we decided to take a "Mini-moon" closer to home. The South of France was the perfect location to relax, soak up the sun and let it sink in that we are finally married.  Read more about it here.

First stop on our Honeymoon was Tanzania. We booked a camping safari with a company called Kilidove Tours who we would recommend to anyone who is looking to go to Tanzania! We were going to spend the next three days searching for the Big 5 in the Serengeti and Ngorongoro crater.

We were picked up by our guide Joshua in our jeep, then we picked up Daminola our cook! Yes we had our own cook for just the two of us! We could not believe it ourselves! As soon as we heard that our budget safari did not seem that budget anymore.

As we were camping  we had to bring our own gas canister with us. When it gets dark in Africa it gets really dark and sometimes me and Dave would sit with our flashlight at our little camping table, and would be amazed about the three course meals that were served to us!

This post is not about any recipes, but we wanted to show you how much and well we ate from our make-do kitchen in the wilderness. Daminola was a magician and every time I complain to Dave bout my lacking kitchen equipment I will remind myself how he managed to cook so much with so little.
