MyDinner - German Cooking Challenge

One reason, I started this German food blog is to promote German cuisine. I want to encourage you to try new recipes and learn about German food on the way.

Join the MyDinner community in this German cooking challenge, by making the recipe below and enter the chance to win a prize.

How to Join

  1. Recipe: Cook the assigned recipe. You can sign up for my newsletter to be notified when a new challenge is posted! Also, check my social media for reminders and updates.
  2. Take a picture: Take a photo of the finished recipe. A simple photo that you snap with your phone is perfect! It doesn't need to be fancy.
  3. Leave a comment and a star rating on the assigned recipe post using the same name and email you will use for your submission.
  4. Submit: Submit your photo and contact information to mydinner.cookingchallenge @gmail.com
  5. Bonus: Share your picture with fellow cooks on our Facebook Group: "Homemade German Food and Recipes"

March 2024 Cooking Challenge- Hefezopf

Hefezopf with Jam

For this Easter cooking challenge I picked the Hefezopf Recipe. This sweet braided bread is a classic German Easter Recipe. But you can make it throughout the year, as it is great for breakfast or brunch.

Key Dates and Prize

  • 16th of March - First Day you can submit your entry
  • 1st April - The last day you can submit your entry
  • 3rd April - Announcement of the winner via email

What is the prize

The winner will receive a $100 Amazon Gift Voucher. I will convert the dollar amount into pounds or euros for UK and German entries. The winner is picked at random. It does not matter how your photo looks, participation is all that matters.

    Hi. I knew when I saw this, it would be delicious. Made this yesterday and it was easy to follow and well written. Forced ourselves to wait till after dinner till it cooled and to enjoy. It was well worth rushing through dinner to try it! The taste isn’t overly sweet and although we tried it plain and then with butter, we can’t wait to try it this morning with jam. Thank you for such a delicious recipe, as several of your recipes I have made.
