This homemade strawberry infused vodka is summer in a bottle! Made with just 3 ingredients and a little patience, it captures the sweet, lightly tart flavour of fresh strawberries perfectly. Serve it as a refreshing vodka lemonade, a crowd-pleasing punch or give it away as a beautiful homemade gift.
If using fresh strawberries, wash, hull and slice them into quarters. If using frozen, add them straight to the jar — no need to defrost first.
500 g strawberries
Add the strawberries to a large Mason jar (around 1 liter / 4 cups). Pour the vodka over the top, add the sugar and stir well with a spoon.
750 ml vodka, 3 tablespoon white granulated sugar
Seal the jar tightly and store in a cool, dark place such as a kitchen cupboard. Within a few hours the vodka will start turning a beautiful pink-red colour.
Leave to infuse for 7-10 days. You will know it is ready when the strawberries have turned almost white.
Strain the vodka through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a clean bowl or pitcher. Pour into bottles and enjoy!
Notes
Once your vodka is ready try it as a strawberry vodka lemonade (1 part vodka to 3 parts lemonade over ice), use it in a summer punch or serve it as shots. See the full serving suggestions in the post above.
