Mix the flour, yeast, salt and sugar in a large mixing bowl. Add the water and olive oil and mix everything to a smooth dough. Cover the bowl and leave to rest for at least 30 minutes in a warm place.
500 g flour, 1 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon sugar, 3 tablespoon olive oil, 250 ml water, 2 teaspoon instant yeast
To make the dough without yeast
Mix the flour, baking powder, salt, sugar in a large mixing bowl. Add the water and olive oil and knead everything to a smooth dough. It is ready to use straight away.
500 g flour, 1 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon sugar, 3 tablespoon olive oil, 250 ml water, 4 teaspoon baking powder
To make the stick bread
Divide the doughs into 8 potions. Roll each portion to a 20 cm / 8 inch long snake, 2 cm thick, and wrap it around the sticks. Press the dough together to secure it at the tip.
Now you can carefully brown your bread above the embers of your campfire. Avoid the open flames as they blacken your dough rather than cooking it.
